         environment

APC is committed to understanding and minimising the environmental impacts of its activities.

APC reduces its environmental impact in the following ways:

  • APC is carbon-neutral. Through Greenfleet, APC offsets all carbon emissions produced by our activities, such as car and air travel (including hire cars and trucks), by the planting of native trees.

  • APC uses Fuji-Xerox ‘Green Wrap’ printer and copy paper. This is made from 60% recycled fibre from pre- and post-consumer paper waste and 40% fibre from sustainably managed plantations.

  • To reduce paper consumption APC

    • reuses waste paper printed on one side

      • in its fax machines and printers

      • as note paper

    • avoids printing proposals and reports unless requested by clients.

    • submits proposals and reports electronically (by e-mail or on disc) where possible, unless specified otherwise by clients

    • double-side prints all documents where printing is necessary

  • APC recycles all our waste paper and cardboard, beverage containers, mobile phones and printer and toner cartridges

  • APC uses long-life low energy fluorescent lights in its offices

  • Where possible APC uses rechargeable batteries in all its battery-operated equipment

  • In its auditing operations, APC:

    • reuses plastic bags wherever it is safe and practicable

    • legally disposes of all sorted waste

APC encourages all sub-consultants and sub-contractors to also meet these standards.

The company’s employees and sub-contractors play an important role in achieving this goal. APC encourages employees to identify opportunities to minimise environmental impact and to improve efficient use of equipment, time, staff and consumables.
