Geoff has over 20 years of experience in the waste industry as the coordinator of the waste management facility for Lord Howe Island. He understands the
challenges faced in day to day operations of running a waste transfer station and MRF for the past 17 years. Geoff has overseen the implementation of the waste
strategy for Lord Howe Island which diverts 84% of all waste from landfill. Geoff has been involved in domestic audits of general waste, recycling, garden waste,
FOGO, and given his understanding of MRFs has been at the forefront of CDS projects in MRFs and kerbside in NSW, Queensland and ACT. In 2018 Geoff was
the waste audit supervisor in Vanuatu collecting data on behalf of the UK government to inform public policy and determine infrastructure funding and priorities. He also led compost training in various villages as part of a community outreach training program for organics waste. In 2019 he led a local waste audit team in Belize. Geoff has considerable experience in waste water treatment and spent 13 years as a horticulturist and holds a Senior First Aid Certificate, White Card and Certificate in Horticulture and current licenses to operate a range of heavy plant and equipment. Geoff has been involved in prior litter audits and data collection for this project.
